One of my roles within TacMed was product design. TacMed creates trauma training mannikins for the military and first responders. Much of my work is proprietary and I am unable to share; however, below are a series of concepts that are meant to simulate the trachea of a dog. The design called for a replaceable trachea tube that fits under a replaceable skin. All the components needed to be manufactured inexpensively and replaced quickly.
In addition to designing, prototyping and creating components, I saw the designs all the way through to vendors for manufacture. This includes machined parts and injection molded parts. I provided technical drawings to the vendors and worked with them to create the parts.
We purchased a physical box, but all the components were added to simulate the final product.
The box size was changed, so I created a full digital render of the product for client approval.
